"[T]hey found themselves in a broad stone corridor, brightly lit with torches, and decorated with cheerful paintings that were mainly of food...She siezed
his arm...[and] pulled him in front of the picture of a giant fruit bowl, stretched out her forefinger, and tickled the huge green pair. It began to squirm,
chuckling, and suddenly turned into a large green door handle...[There was] an enormous, high-ceilinged room, large at the Great Hall above it, with mounds of
glittering brass pots and pans heaped around the stone walls, and a great brick fireplace at the other end...[and] four long wooden tables...positioned exactly
beneath the four House tables above." - JKR GOF pg 374-76.

"[A] stone door concealed in the wall slid open. The Slytherin common room was a long, low underground room with rough stone walls and ceiling from
which round, greenish lamps were hanging on chains. A fire was crackling under an elaborately carved mantelpiece ahead of them, and several Slytherins were
silhouetted around it in high-backed chairs." - JKR CS pg 221.

The Slytherin dormitories can be reached by two long shadowy hallways leading off from oppsoite sides of the commonroom. Once within each year is titled in a
silver plaque on the door. Behind each is a slightly drafty, dark room, circular in shape and housing five forest-green curtained poster beds. The walls are
covered in elaborate serpent tapestries, and trunks lie at the foot of the beds, with a small maghogany nightstand beside the headboards. The lamps all seem to
have the faintest green hue.
