"Nothing proper?" he asked her. "Well, we shall have to change that. Food is too good to not be eaten." It was such a waste not to eat good food that was in front of you. Jeremy certainly liked his food and he would make sure that Magda ate tonight then if she hadn't been eating, though he wondered why she hadn't been eating properly to begin with. His healer side worried about that but he knew Magda wouldn't be so casual about something if it was serious.

He was about to tell her to screw being polite when she brought up the very topic that he tried to avoid. Jeremy went stiff and glanced around before he forced himself to relax. He ran a hand through his hair and took a long draw of his beer. "You know no matter where I go, he'll find me," he told her quietly, "we've been through this. We just have to...wait it out, until he decides to...cut me lose." Because Lamont owned him and there was no changing that.

Setting his beer on the table, he studied Magda for a moment. "You know how serious I am about being a healer, love. But to answer your question...I could up and leave and be a healer somewhere else...if I got my private practice license." And he took another gulp of his beer. "Now, Magda, what's this all about? You're starting to worry me." He offered her a small, concerned smile.
