She was positive that something interesting would come along. It always did out by the forest. She loved the forest for that very reason and it was that love of the forest that had her often toeing the line of real trouble. So far, she'd never been caught by anyone when she was actually in the forest; she'd usually been caught just on the edge and given a stern warning about not going any further in. Ben didn't know that, and she saw little point in letting him know.

"Owls? Oh! They are all actually very quiet! Don't let names like 'screech owl' fool you for a moment. They are terribly quiet and all. They do get very attached to their owners, though. And really, it depends on where your parents live, doesn't it? For the choice? If they live where they have a lot of property to let the owl prowl about on, a big owl - like a snowy owl or an eagle owl - are really quiet marvelous. But, if they have only a house in, say, a sub-division, you'd best go with a smaller barn owl or a tawny owl. The shopkeeper at Eeloyps would be able to steer you perfectly right, you know," she prattled on as they moved along.

She hadn't missed his action with the camera, her brow knitting a touch as he scanned the treeline. "Is that your thing? The camera?" she asked, motioning at it. "My brother, Gavin, says everyone has their thing. Mine is animals; so, is that yours? A camera?"
