He had brought up the owls cause he wasn’t sure what else to talk about during a patrol. When it came to girls Ben lived in a world of failure. Not that he was trying to get with Caitlin, but he still wanted to appear like he was charming on some level. Apparently he had succeeded slightly when she took the bait and told him about every owl available. Yes, he did want one, but he didn’t expect her to give the full report on every species.

“So I should just check in Diagon then?” He asked, thinking a moment about how he’d be able to go into the place on his own without his parents hovering over him asking a million questions that muggles always seemed to do. “Thanks.” He added, and then ran his hand over his mouth, “My parents are pretty good with the whole wizard thing…I suppose I could bring home seven owls and they’d just be happy that I had something to keep myself occupied.” Cause as much as they loved him they often let him keep to himself these days; Especially when he was busy doing magical things.

"Is that your thing? The camera?" she asked, motioning at it. "My brother, Gavin, says everyone has their thing. Mine is animals; so, is that yours? A camera?"

As he lowered his camera, Ben glanced down at it and shrugged, “I love my camera. Nothing like stealing moments and capturing life in the blink of an eye…” He took another shot, “Yeah, I guess it’s my thing.” He chuckled as they approached another section of the forest, “You like animals then?” He stopped walking and smiled, “All types or certain ones in specific?”
