Lizzie blushed furiously as Flitwick told her to let go of Tucker. Ever since the night before, over Transformation homework she couldn’t seem to stop herself from touching him. Not touching him just seemed wrong.

She clutched at her wand and scowled at the desk top until Adam brought around the glass balls. By the she could smell Tucker’s sweetie and he was chattering away unconcerned. Maybe it was alright. It was just that she liked  Flitters, and she didn’t want him to think she was…

What was she?

"Alright, so, shall we get this going? I'm not too color with sharp spells - er, sharp with color spells...but Wingardium Leviosa," he set his ball to floating, "that's easy enough."

Lizzie giggled and picked up her wand. Tucker was right. Wingardium Leviosa  was first year stuff, and she’d done it a hundred times. With a swish and a flick, her ball floated upward. And then it struck her. She hadn’t said the spell!

“Tucker,” She hissed. “I did a silent! I did a silent spell!”

The glass ball bobbed a little in front of her and she watched it in confusion. How had she done a silent spell? She looked at her wand and then over at Professor Flitwick, who was watching everyone get their globes aloft.

“Professor,”  She called, “I did a silent..” And then her ball fell to the floor and smashed.

“Spell..” She trailed off. “Oh, bother.”

Clearly her silent spell casting needed some work.
