“True for you, sweet. Though we would be more or less restricted to the hiding part of lurking, as there would be no one to spy on.-“

“Oh,” her brows furrowed, “right. Didn’t think of that.” Guess that was why she tended to follow and not be the one to come up with plans.

“Almost anyone we did spy on would certainly be worth it. Because, think about it: anybody other than us, who stayed away from the Quidditch would most likely be up to no good. Which is exactly why we would want to lurk and watch them.”

That had her grinning. “Right! Definitely.” She nodded and kissed his cheek. “You’re so smart,” Ava told him. For the most part she went to the quidditch matches. Maybe she had missed a few in her time at school but not a lot. Mostly that was because it was just what you did. You went to quidditch matches. The entire school did. So up until now, any match she missed had probably been involuntary. But lurking with ffleurbert, anything with him, would be fun.

She rested against him as he explained lurking to her – lurking he had done back home that is. In all actuality it was really him telling her about his home. “Maid?” she found herself inquiring about. What kind of home did he live in? Avaline probably should have known more about it but at least she was learning it now, right? She smiled, imagining him playing around the house. It must have been nice to be able to do that without…she shook her head and focused on just listening to ffleurbert.

Stables. Gardens. Hedge maze. He really had her intrigued. Obviously he had money. Or at least that’s what it sounded like. Ava’s family had never been found wanting, but still, she didn’t have any of the things he mentioned. Not even a garden. She had wanted one but her father refused to allow it.

“And of course, you can lurk on the roof, behind the balustrade.”

“Of course,” she murmured, glancing at him and grinning.

“Where do you lurk, at home, my little bunny?”

The grin dropped and she looked away from him, intentionally, again, changing the subject. “So…you and Skrumph have been friends for a while then, right? Even before Hogwarts?” If they were playing in the dumb waiter then they were children at the time. Though she could picture them doing it now. Either way, she found it amusing and a much more satisfactory conversation than anything concerning her family would be.
