Cora didn’t know why this was so hard for her. Apparently she had done well enough to be invited to this weekend. She wanted to live up to how well she had done before, even if she hadn’t been the best out of them all. But right now she was just doing mediocre. Blair’s were NOT mediocre. She focused more, gripping the dowsing wand even harder, as though it would help her to accomplish everything with a lot more ease.

That, however, appeared to be the wrong approach.

“I think you may be holding the dowsing wand just a touch to tightly,”

Professor Flitwick. Great. She must have been doing worse than she had thought. The professor hadn’t gone to any of the other students….that she had noticed. It didn’t matter. He was giving her instruction and she was going to listen to it. Even as he told her what she could do to improve, she started to loosen her grip, nodding her head to what she was being told. “Yes, professor.” Her eyes brightened when instantly she felt a difference. This time she nodded a bit more eagerly. “Yes, professor,” she said with more enthusiasm. “Thank you. That’s very helpful. I think I’ll do better now.”
