“Simmer down there, Sparky. You’re not going to hex me, are you?”

Brigitte. Daniel recognized the voice immediately. He was quite good at picking out voices from his year. After spending five days out of the week in the classroom with the same people made them familiar. That is, as long as the spoke up in class. Brigitte had never had a problem with that but it seemed she tended to say frivolous things for laughs or to raise eyebrows.

"Oh yeah, around me you run the risk of a good hexing," Daniel deadpanned, the corner of his mouth tugging at the corner at the self deprecation humor. You ran that risk with the other Grayson brother. Ashby seemed to take morbid pleasure when it came to hexing or making student's lives miserable. Even Daniel wasn't safe from Ashby's attentions if it so turned in his direction.

“Didn’t really seem like a good time to grace you with my presence. You know…decency to let you finish.”

Daniel flushed a bit of this. She was correct. If she had interrupted him, he would have been more put out.

"Sorry, it's been a long day. Good to know it didn't send you running in the opposite direction," he apologized. He was rather glad that it was Brigitte and not Professor Campbell who may not care to be snapped at by a fifth year student. If she perhaps showed up in another 10 minutes, he would've been back to his normal cheerful mood.

"What's up, Brigitte?" he asked as he tightened one of the pegs at the end of his violin.
