"Good thing we both know our place then.  Mine, for example, is playing Quidditch, long after you're too old and fat to do so."

That wiped the smirk off his face. Ashby growled in response. Merlin but he should just hex her right now and be done with it. Go back to the dorms where his mates were still celebrating. He would never get fat and as for old, yeah but it beat the alternative. Not fat, that required utter lack of discipline and Ashby would never see himself falling into that entrapment. He was good looking and he knew it.

And the bitch kept talking, yammering on about muggles and mops. Utter nonsense. Merlin, she just kept on talking. Ashby was throughly irritated with the girl.

"Here's a tip Mr. Beater.  You won't catch it if you're behind me."

Now Ashby had very few rules in life. On the top of his list was don't do anything that might make him appear stupid. Or he might fail at, in front of people. Appearances had to be maintained after all. If he was going to enter any situation, he was going to come out looking good. For the most part, this had worked out pretty well for him.

Yet he was at an impasse. If he didn't go, he'd looked whipped and by Merlin's beard, that was the last thing he'd want Tessa to think. She'd feel like she had gotten the upper hand the upper hand. If he did go, there was a good chance that'd he'd make an ass out of himself.

He gritted his teeth and sped after her. With one hand clutching the broom, he pulled out his wand from the inside pocket of his robes. He knew full well that he would never catch that snitch. But that didn't mean that Tessa had to catch it either. That is, if he could find the damn thing. It had moved from the goal post. Ashby watched as Tessa made a rather impressive sharp 90 degree turn. Then he saw it, it's white body standing out against the Gryffindor's colors.

"Incendio," the stream of fire shot past Tessa's head. Hitting the golf ball square on. The fire wouldn't be hot enough to incinerate the ball but even from here, he could see it starting to melt as it burned and started dropping to the ground.

"Oh right, you did say catch it didn't you?" Ashby had to yell his faux apology as the wind started to pick up from the height.

"Pity that," he lamented, his voice thick with sarcasm. He gave her a triumphed look.

That'll show that little bitch.
