"You make it sound like I just announced I was shaving my head and getting a ring through my nose. I like music and it's not like Hogwarts is known for it's music program,"

“But…it’s summer. You’re not supposed to study in the summer!” she said firmly. Seriously, what was with people? They didn’t seem to value sleep and relaxation. No, it seemed all of her classmates liked to stay as busy as possible no matter the time of the year. It was kind of depressing. Brigitte just didn’t understand it.

"Kittens are cute and everything but they grow up to be cats. Having an animal that knows full well it used to be worshiped would get tedious. My mum claims she's allergic to fur. What are your brother reasons?"

“I know they grow into cats. That’s the point,” Brigitte said, rolling her eyes. “My kitty is two.” She sighed. “And that’s why Cliff won’t get me another one: because I already have one and he doesn’t want to be responsible for it.” She rolled her eyes again. “And he doesn’t think we can afford one. Like they’re expensive.” Goodness, she did just fine with the one she had right now. It wasn’t like she was asking for a whole litter of them.

The conversation took another turn. The two of them seemed to be curving through conversations with no stop in sight.

"Is he going to give it back?"

Sighing, Brigitte slid her back down the wall next to her. Her legs were sprawled out in front of her. She didn’t have to worry about decency around Daniel at least. “Sit. You’re making me tired just looking at you.”

She sighed again. “Well, as part of my ongoing punishment, Cliff is making me stay at Hogwarts for the holiday so no, he is not going to give them back. At least not until next summer…Which makes that a year without it.” Merlin, she was going to go crazy. She hadn’t thought about it like that. Now she was really depressed and going through withdrawals.
