"I've never really liked hotels. And I don't need to eat the best food and spend our money on expensive things. I've seen the world, and its wonderful, but I would much rather stay home and read than travel."

Kaleb snorted. “Well, that’s boring.” He rolled his eyes. “They would get us a suite at the hotel. It would be like a mini-flat. Or I could make them get us a villa. You do know they like to keep me happy.” He grinned. More often than not he got what he wanted from the team. A happy Kaleb was an easy Kaleb to deal with.

“And you don’t have to eat the best food or buy expensive things. You can read there. Merlin, it’s called being adaptable, Espa.” Sometimes he wondered his wife; wondered if she was more high maintenance than he realized.

“And besides, I couldn't stand being in the same place as half your teammates wives… girlfriends… lovers… whatever. for that long."

“And who would you spend your time with here, then?” he challenged. The children would be at school.

Kaleb more than welcomed his wife’s attentions, though. He closed his eyes, relaxing and enjoying the way she ran her fingers through his hair. His body started to relax too.

"And besides, then your girlfriends… lovers… whores… whatever couldn't go with you. You'd miss them too much."

“I prefer not to name them,” he said. Why give them a title. Kaleb shrugged where he lay. “I wouldn’t have a need for them if you were there.” He then looked up at Espa. “Besides, it’s not like I have as many as you think I do.”
