She was pretty sure he'd started it. He hadn't. She had. But later she would be fairly sure it was his fault and refuse to speak to him for a week. It had to be his fault. It certainly was not her fault. She was not that kind of person. She was a good person. He had a girlfriend. Sure his girlfriend was not a really great person, and T.J. sort of got the feeling Tucker didn't like Lizzie as much as he liked having a girlfriend, but that didn't really change things. T.J. was a good person.

She was not the kind of girl who kissed other girl's boyfriends. That wasn't entirely true, not anymore at any rate.

She wasn't really sure how it happened. They were just standing there in the girl's loo. She'd gotten upset. That explained it. She was upset. He was holding her. Her head pressed to his chest, the sound of his heart louder than his voice as he spoke. And he kept saying sweet things, kind things, nice things. The kind of things T.J. was pretty sure no one had any business saying to her. He had nice eyes. Eyes one might line up on a shelf to keep, if that didn't sound creepily like a murderous stalker. None of that was really, entirely justification for kissing another girl's boyfriend.

That was exactly what she was doing anyway. He had his arms around her. This was clearly his doing. T.J. had put her hands on his shoulders as she started to lean back to move away from him, but somehow she'd gotten lost along her way away from him and ended up with her lips on his. She thought she ought to have regretted it the instant she did it. She should have. She was not that kind of person. But she did not regret it. She was appalled at herself, and furious with him for making her do it, and vaguely sure she didn't want to stop.

But she did stop. She looked for a moment as if she were going to hit him. And she wanted to. If he had kissed her, she would have hit him, but it seemed unfair since she had been the one doing the kissing. "If you tell anyone, even Joel, I will murder you." She glared at him. This was all his fault. Him and his stupid words, and his being sweet and caring and… He was an idiot. She was an idiot. "I will. I know where you sleep." She threatened, and tried her hardest to make her voice mean it, but she did not step back or make any attempt to move away from him.
