He reached for her hand. She should have pulled away, but she didn't. Rather she laced her fingers between his automatically and let him lead her from the loo. She had told him she did not want to talk to him. So she didn't. She let him tell her he could fall in love, but she did not say anything. Not right away. She had to think about what she was going to say, or she'd say something stupid. She would end up doing something stupid like kissing him again. Or worse. She couldn't think of anything worse she could do right now. But she had a bad habit of doing incredibly stupid things.

She was vaguely sure they were walking back towards the common room, but she had decided that she was not ready to go back yet. He should though. He should go study or play guitar or study. She need to go to the armor gallery. It was her safe space. When things got to be too much she would hide out there and dance. She'd spent most of fourth year in there, more than she'd spent anywhere else. This year had been better. She'd been in the armor gallery a couple times, but before tonight she had not needed to go. Now she definitely did. There was nothing stupid she could do in the armor gallery.

"Tuck, wait." She said finally, tugging at his hand to stop him as they approached the common room door. "I want you to fall in love, you know." He had told her he could fall in love, and she understood the implication that he could fall in love with her, she had just been really trying to ignore it. "You're one of my best friends, and I want you to be happy, but just don't fall in love with me okay? You deserve somebody great. You really do, and that's not me. So, okay? Please?" She bounced up on her toes to kiss his cheek and missed, instead giving him a small quick peck on the lips. She tried to smile, failed, and finally releasing his hand, headed off towards the stairs.
