"Most of the kids will probably go back to China at a year or two, so I though they should have proper names."

"That sounds lonesome." She decided.  "I hope they stay together."  Kate felt a little out of place, among the dragons and in her new home.  Standing so still left her antsy, but she didn't move.

I'm trying to teach them some basic commands. I mean not these guys. They're only two weeks, but the others. You know muggle zoos do all sorts of behavior training with exotics. If a rhino or giraffe can learn to target and present body parts for keepers to inspect, these guys can do it."

"I did not know that about muggle zoos." said Kate.  "If only I'd made a date with a handsome muggle zoo keeper, he might have informed me of all the tricks rhinos could do."  She was certainly teasing now.  Of course she had made a date with a muggle zoo keeper, only he'd turned out to be Nat instead.  The whole thing seemed ridiculous.  How had this turned out? How was it possible that she was in a barn, surrounded by dragons, a married lady? It was crazy talk.

"Tell me something else about the dragons, Nat.  Something that's not just out of one of your books.  I wanna know."  Although she was asking about the dragons, she wasn't looking at them any longer.  She was watching her husband.  There should have been a book written on Nat Warwicks. He was a strange species in his own right, and mightily hard to get to know.
