"That sounds lonesome. I hope they stay together."

“Its hard to say. Most sibling groups are split as best they can be. Inbreeding is not really positive.” The girls might all get kept one place, or the boys another, or pairs of same sex siblings might go places. He was really interested in studying how exactly the Fireballs chose their mates, and he figured a set of seven siblings would be good for an observational study.

"Tell me something else about the dragons, Nat. Something that's not just out of one of your books. I wanna know."

Nat had not realized he sounded like he was quoting books. He probably was. It was hard from him to tell sometimes. He remembered everything. It tended to sort of run together sometimes. His own thoughts, written words, pieces of things other people had told him. Especially if he wasn’t focused. Like now. He was mostly just excited to show his new wife his favorite dragons. “Um... well... Lilu there is the biggest.” He pointed to the female with the pink band. “She’s independent and stubborn as hell.” That was why she was the leader really. Because she just didn’t let her sisters boss her around. It was also why she was the largest, he suspected she was bullying the others out of food. He’d have to keep a better eye on.her

“Liang,” the male with the red band was pointed out next, “thinks he’s a vegetarian. He refused to eat any meat. But, its important for them, so we have to mix his meat in with his grain, the others get them separate because they don’t really care, food is food. But if we leave it separate for him he won’t eat the meat.” He had been the smallest for a while, but once they got him eating what he was supposed to be, he’d quickly grown past Lok. “Lin and Liu, Yellow and White are pretty close, they get stressed out if they’re separated. I can’t actually get a weight on them individually, so we weigh them together divided in half. So long as they’re about the same size, that’s fine. If one gets noticeably bigger or smaller than the other, I’ll have to figure something else out.”
