A lot of work had gone into her costume. It had started out as a simple idea but then grew in complexity. The top was something she would never wear outside of the Halloween masque, and even then Mother Nature felt like it was not in her nature to be wearing such a thing. But it was pretty. She couldn’t deny that. The top was a collage of leaves in an array of fall colors – greens, oranges, reds, browns.

Her skirt was made of green foliage down to her ankles. They swished as she walked. Swished and crinkled. It was the sound of a fall day if a day were made of only sounds. She was barefoot and feet recoiled against the cold stone floor she walked on. But it was all part of dressing up for the masque and she had an example to set.

Her accessories were simple. Very simple. A mask. That was all. A mask made out of moss. Not the most comfortable but she had to admit…it looked pretty brilliant. Her hair was not a simple task. She curled it but also made it wild. Twigs and ferns and flowers were curled and wrapped around the strands. Vines wound their way up her arms so that they looked like they were growing out of her.
Trying to walk light on her feet, she walked with the last stragglers of the masque into the Great Hall.
