Ashby grimaced as he looked at the list of names on the board. He considered asking to be switched but almost immediately dismissed the idea. His uncle would just look at him in the same dissatisfied look as if Ashby wasn’t quite up to par, in fact, Ashby sometimes wondered if he was even close. He stood up from the table that he shared with Chase and walked over to the bookcase before plucking a book for himself.

He back over to Tessa’s desk and frowned. He then let out a wary sigh over the Herculean feat that he still faced by being paired with her, just in case she needed extra assurance that he wasn’t pleased with the pairing. It had to be the absolute worst pairing. He would've gladly paired up with his brother instead. Well, not gladly...maybe it was a bit of toss up who was worse actually.

“Let’s get this over with,” he lamented he took a seat next to her. “You are going to get a book, aren’t you Greengrass? Or are you planning on doing something stupid like filing your claws for the rest of class?” he reported.
