To say that Lydia was intrigued by the older Hufflepuff boy was quite a simple way to put it. She was more than curious about him, which she attributed to the nature of her house and not any creepiness on her own part, and yet she'd been somewhat shy when it came to talking to him again. She felt that, quite innocently, she had tread upon sensitive ground in their first meeting. It really wasn't her fault; she just happened to stick her foot in her mouth quite a bit. Really, it made her rather flexible.

But, well, apparently, she didn't have to worry about things. He had been nice enough to send her a rose on Valentine's Day and she had been eager to thank him for it. So far, however, she hadn't seen him, or had the chance. However, fate was kind to Lydia Ryan, and she spotted him as she was approaching her common room, arms linked in a sisterly fashion with Sapphira. Giving the girl a smile and a wave, she whispered a promise to be up in a moment, and then she snuck quietly up to Danny. He really was rather cute when he didn't think anyone was looking at him.

"You're not waiting for me, are you?" she asked coyly, standing near enough so that he would definitely be able to feel her invading his personal space. "Thank you for the rose, Danny. It was very sweet. Did you get mine?"

Of course Lydia would send a pointy object and a written card to a boy who couldn't see. But no one ever said she was the most thoughtful person in Hogwarts.
