"I wondered who had sent me that rose. Thank you and your welcome, I'm glad you liked it,"

Lydia arched an eyebrow, wondering if that meant he had too many and he didn't know which was which, or if that meant that he hadn't really gotten any roses, and therefore he was surprised that someone would send him one. She'd have to track Dam down and ask him, or one of the other Sixth year Hufflepuffs. Someone would know, or could find out for her. No, she'd send Alyn. Nothing like recruiting the best help in times of need.

"Oh, I did. Your note was my favorite. I like it when boys ramble," she said with a smile, twirling a piece of hair out of habit. "You're really very good at it."

"And so here,"

Her smile grew as the older, very cute boy in front of her pulled out a box and gave it to her. Valentines Day chocolates were wonderful things to get as presents in Lydia's mind; it was always more about the principle of the thing, rather than the thing itself.

"Thank you so much!" she said, slipping one arm around the boy's waist and another over one of his shoulders. There was nothing wrong with exchanging a hug for a gift. "These are so much better than mum's tofu-walnut-nothing that tastes good cookies that she sent. You're sweet."

She disengaged herself from him and took advantage of his inability to see to squeeze her eyes shut very tight and bounce around in place. Just a little bit though.

"Do you want one?" she asked, slipping the box open. "I'd feel absolutely terrible if you didn't let me share with you."
