"Oh, I did. Your note was my favorite. I like it when boys ramble," "You're really very good at it."

"Err...thanks," Daniel said as he shifted his weight from one foot to the other. Does someone say thanks for that? He wasn't sure but saying thanks was all he could possibly think of.

"Thank you so much!"

And with that, the little brunette hugged him. Automatically, Daniel's arms wrapped around her. To his surpise he found her to be rather tiny girl. He knew full well how tall she was by the sound of her voice when she spoke to him, but having his arms wrapped around her made him realize how small she was.

"These are so much better than mum's tofu-walnut-nothing that tastes good cookies that she sent. You're sweet."

Daniel's face distorted in a grimace at the thought of someone even attempting to make cookies from tofu. Tofu and cookies did not mix, trying to do so was downright blasphemy.

"Ahh well you see, I sort of had to. I mean, what if you didn't get anything, you would tell everyone at school what a horrible seer I was,"he teased her.

Actually he was very pleased at the fact that she liked them so much. He liked hanging around her, it was always interesting to hear what came out of her mouth. Sometimes it suprised him. She was honest and didn't guard her words around him like so many people did. She didn't seem to worry about offending him, though it actually took a lot to do in the first place but everyone was always so careful around him. Lydia was a refreshing change of company.

"Do you want one?" she asked, slipping the box open. "I'd feel absolutely terrible if you didn't let me share with you."

"I wouldn't hold it against you if you didn't, but I don't mind if I do," Daniel said as he took one and popped it in his mouth.

"So does this mean your mum is going to send me a howler for corrupting you with chocolate?" asked Daniel as he brushed his longish hair out of his face and gave her a teasing smile. He got his own fair amount of howlers from his own mum so they didn't worry about them anymore really. But he figured he might as well ask anyway.
