It was only when he finally stood, his hand rubbing the back of his neck, that Sapphira realized how utterly insensitive she'd been to his needs. Of course, Sapphira was almost always insensitive to the needs of others - at least up until she became aware that she was being so. And that was when the guilt would hit as was clearly shown in her countenance when she winced a touch.

"Oh, Julian! You look dead on your feet! You should have said something instead of letting me blather on. Really, you should have," she insisted as she stood - apparantly not aware that her insistence was far from necessary. "Patrol wasn't too rough tonight, was it? 'Cause you really do look horrible."

She pulled a face, tugging her hair over her shoulder unconciously and pulling it through a loose fist. "Was it dungeon patrols tonight? Those ones always give me the shivers, and not just because it's cold down there." She broke off before she could continue, her hand slapping over her mouth and a slight laugh escaping her. "And I really need to let you go. Tomorrow night, then? I'll meet you there. If something changes, let me know, all right?"

Impulsively, then, before she even thought through anything, she slipped her arms around him for a quick hug before she was off and up the stairs to her dorm leaving him to head to his own.
