Clayton froze when her fingers brushed against his own as she handed him the handbag. It was only out of sheer instinct that his fingers curled around the merchandice as he watched Josie for a moment before her words struck him.

"Oh. Oh no. It won't reflect poorly on you. It couldn't no matter what you'd chosen. You're too pretty," he said before he bit the inside of his cheek to make himself shut up.
