OH! Whitney, be assured, if I were mocking you, you would know it,

Alice. He whispered sliding his hands around her waist. Please dont start with her. But it was too late. The damage had been done and there was no way that Whitney was going to let this argument die down. He figured eventually, his mounting headache would get the best of him and he would physically separate the two girls.

The Hufflepuff girl, bounced up and down slightly, I cant imagine that I would know. You use such big words all the time. It must be impossible for Nic to understand you. She knew full well that Nic wouldnt care if Whit called him stupid. If any guy, or possibly another girl had he wouldnt take it. But he let Whit get away with most everything.

Whit. Please, dont fight with Alice! Nic said with a slight groan. Whit was a bit of a firecracker. And when she argued, unlike his Alice, she tended to get physical. If Nic had to bet on Whit or Alice in a fight, he was going to bet Whit ever single time. No matter how much he cared about Alice, her physical poweress was minimal at best. Whitney was three years younger and defiantly was taller, and he imagined that Alice Mason had never thought about playing a sport in her life.

I try and make mock of my own shortcomings, and you turn this into some kind of attack against you.

Whiney looked at Nic, but continued talking to Alice, "When did I say you being short was an attack on me? Unless you plan to bite off my knees." She quickly pulled her self out of range of attack from her brother. Nic might be ok with her insulting him, but attacking Alice was a different story, he seemed rather attached to her. Of course she couldn't imagine that he'd hit her. Nic hadn't moved a hand against her since... they were very small children and she'd knocked his guitar down the stairs. what it was doing at the top of the stairs, she would never know. But he'd pummeled her. She had bruises for a month. If Nic cared about Alice as much as his guitars, she was staying out of hitting range.

You mock me for my deepest feelings and rebuke me for showing affection to your brother."

Deepest feelings, showing affection. Nic thought those were very, very cold ways of saying things. Course he was trying not to pay to much attention to the bickering girls for the sake of his poor throbbing head. He was skipping classes tomorrow he decided. It seemed like the best option for his pain and suffering. He deserved to take a day off.

"You try to make me look the fool for wanting to do so."

"The rather think with the rate that Nic goes through women you are the fool." Whitney said slouching down in her chair. She had a rather upset look. The kind Nic use to give his father when he wouldn't give him his way. And Whit honestly was uspet. what hold did this woman have over Nic that she would belive that she should learn his food preferences? What? Did she think they were going to run off together and get married and have little Nic-lings? Like that would ever happen. Next week she would be stumbling on her brother in the closet with some girl or another and her name wouldn't be Alice Mason.

No, Whitney, I am not mocking you. Now will you do me the simple courtesy of telling me why you see fit to make mock of me on out first meeting?

"Anyone stupid enough to date Nic deserves to be mocked." Truth was. Whit was very, very jelous of Alice. Now that Mum had the spawns to look after, Nic was her only real family. And he was her best friend. Sure, Sioni was an alright kid, and they had good times every now and then. But he wasn't Nic. He could only put up with listening to her plots about how professor McGonogall was really a centaur bent on turning all of the students in to frogs. Nic never, never complained about Whits quirks. Nic didn't take anything Whitney said seriously. She could be as absuive and scarcastic about Nic and he honestly didn't care. Unless he was sick, then he kind of got grouchy.

Im sorry, Dearest, but I dont know what I have done to deserve this. If loving you is a crime, I plead guilty. Yet I do not know why I should be pilloried for it. Truly I dont.

Nic let his head fall on to the table. His hair gave a slight bounce has he did so. This was awful. He should have known Whit would do this. Whitney wasnt use to sharing Nic. But Alice was all he talked about, all he thought about. What he wanted, he dreamed about, he lusted after. Whitney couldnt be these things. Whit was his best friend, and his little sister.

Of course Whitney didnt want Nic the same way Alice did. It was much different, but she didnt want to lose him to another woman. It wasnt fair to her. Besides he was just going to cheat on her in the end like all the others. She would still be his best friend. And Alice would quickly be forgotten. Just like all of the rest. There was nothing to worry about was there? But he looked at Alice Mason differently, he touched her gently, and was genuinely upset by the fact that the girls werent getting along. Hed never cared what Whit thought of the girls he just shagged. Whitney was going with a love potion. Thats what it was. Alice was slipping some kind of love potion in to her brother's drinks. No way a thing like that would get him other wise.

He sat up, and gave Whtiney a silencing look. "Alright girls, enough. Unless you both plan to argue in words with less than five letters, and only use ten words in each sentence, you should stop. I'm getting a headache."
