When her hand was in his hair, he bit his lip to keep in a small moan. He loved Alices hands in his hair. He would have purred if he and Alice were alone. He let his hands move up her thigh, but he had to pull his hand off of her before it started doing things he would regret later. Then when he got a bit upset, she pulled her hand away. And he didnt like that. He wanted her hand in his hair. It felt good to have her touching him. Then she folded her hands in her lap and dropped her head. Almost instantly he reached out to take her hands, but her voice stopped him

Yes, Nic, Dearest.

His heart dropped. Quite literally he felt sick. He never meant to upset her. Just to make her and Whitney stop bickering. It was his fault they were fighting in the first place. Hed been the one who wanted Alice and Whit to meet. And now she was sad. Nic shouldnt have that effect on a girl. It just wasnt right. To possess that much control over her. That telling the to stop fighting would cause her to instantly end her bickering. Not only that but to make her talk like that. He wanted to continue his move and touch her, but he couldnt make himself move.

In that little voice. With the little girl like quality, how she dropped her head. Whitney was rather impressed. She was going to feel absolutely awful when her brother cheated on Alice. This girl and her brother were a great couple. And Whitney had hurt Alice, like she wanted to. But Alice had taken Nics momentary outburst much harder than any and all of the things

Im sorry, Whitney. You are of course right. It was presumpt..... rude of me to talk to you that way. You know Nic better than I do. I apologize. I shall try and not bother you in future.

Whitney glanced from Alice, to Nic and back again. She could tell that her brother was upset worse by Alices sad attitude. And she knew both were her fault. Naw. Its may fault. She said flipping her ponytail lightly. She wasnt real good at apologies, and knew she was going to say the wrong thing. As much as she didnt want to Whitney proved herself right. I should be ok with Nic dating by now. With all the girls hes shagged, I should be use to being second. She could have smacked herself. Well I mean, not that I think your like the girls hes well because your well not you and Nic wouldnt. I mean. I wouldnt care if you did, but I dont think you would. And Nic said you didnt she shrugged and looked rather pathetically at Nic for help.

Nic would have been more than happy to hit Whitney. This wasnt exactly where he wanted to have this conversation going. His physical relationship with Alice, while Whitney did know all of the details, he didnt want Alice to get awkward. He wanted things to go back to the first few minuets of the conversation. Where Alice was happy, and Whitney was Whitney. And that he wasnt feeling miserable about his sisters bumbling ways.

Im sorry, Nic, darling. Ill keep quiet.

She sounded so sad. Nic didnt handle Alice sad well. He slid his chair back from the table and took her hand, pulling her close to him. He buried his face in her hair, closing his eyes. Im sorry, darling. He whispered, feeling her hair under his lips. I didnt mean to upset you. He was starting to think that maybe they should go. He could take Alice somewhere quite and remind her that he loved her, and that Whitney was just a stupid kid, despite how she pretended not to be. He vaguely heard his sister fidgeting in her seat. Whitney wanted to get away. He could tell, but she wasnt moving, probably because it was her fault, and she knew it. But he didnt care about Whitney right now. He was holding Alice, and thats where his attention was.
