Not only was this Quaffle signed by a whole professional Quidditch teameven if it was the stinky Arrowsbut it was a winning ball. Michelle wiggled her outstretched fingers, eyes lit up with anticipation.

"And you think I might actually allow for my prized possession," yes, it already fell into that category, "to be touched by the foul hands of a Magpie supporter, eh?"

Nodding a solid affirmative, Michelle took the ball in her hands and smirked at his easy acquiescence. I can easily take that ugly watch back if my Magpie hands have fouled it too much for you to wear, she said.

Michelle turned the ball, silent, while Luke thanked Plum for the Quaffle, trying not to smile at their obvious affection for one another. It was sweet. That is, it was sweet until Luke started digging around in his pockets and swearing about leaving Plums gift behind.

Michelle handed the Quaffle across to Luke and leaned back in her chair. She looked at Plum with a very serious twinkle in her eye. Thats what happens to people who support the Appleby Arrows, she said. They have to teach themselves to forget how pathetic their team is, and then they start to forget other things too. Its quite sad.
