Michelle tried very hard to stifle the warm smile that was spreading over her face as Luke apologized for himself and then gradually came to realize what it was that shed said in answer to him. This was one of the things she had learned to like about him. He could be so blustery and obnoxious, but then he could make up for it beautifully just by being himself.

All of the sudden he changed topics abruptly. Woah!" he commented. "That's a lovely dress."

Michelles menu paused mid-fan and her eyes darted downward. Shed quite forgotten that she was supposed to be covering up her dress and her cheeks colored as she noticed his staring. She knew precisely why shed bought it, of course. Shed been shopping with her girlfriends who had persuaded her that it was too wonderful to pass up. It was a lovely color jewel green - and it really was pretty. The trouble was that Michelle just couldnt get used to wearing dresses that fit so closely against her skin, and this dress was quite possibly a half size too small to boot.

Thank you, she told him very politely. Its my favorite color after my team colors.

She dropped the fan on the table, and reached around to draw the cloak back over her shoulders. What do you think is taking so long with the tea? she asked, thinking that a culinary distraction might be exactly what she needed just then.
