He watched her as she took in his words, wondering if she'd believe him and uncertain of just what he'd do if she didn't. Luke had many faults; lying was not one of them. His father (despite the lies that Luke had been learning about over the last months) had been adamant that lies were not part of the Price existence and those few times that Luke had been caught lying as a child had resulted in whippings that he still cringed about.

It had worked; lies were a rare visitor to his lips.

With relief at her response, he nodded, returning to his feet and dragging his cloak back on (and tossing a galleon onto the table) before assisting Michelle with her own pressing a soft kiss to her cheek and a whispered comment about how insanely beautiful her dress was before he was taking her hand into his own and leading them through the shop.

Moments later they were back out in the chill and fall of the snow, Luke wasting no time is slipping an arm around Michelle and pulling his girlfriend close to him. Just for the chill, of course.

"I don't suppose that your father and mum will be getting a long, rambling letter about your wonderful Valentine's Day with your new boyfriend, will they?" he asked, with a teasing note in his voice as they started down the still mostly deserted road.
