With her back to him and her feet taking her away from him, much of the mirth and laughter seeped away, his jaw dropping a bit and his brow knitting. He'd expected that she'd take his hand and then he'd planned to draw her into a very long kiss complete with any manner of teasing comments about how he was sure that another girl would be far more pleasing and how she should probably find a lad who was more suitably upper crust. Running after her, as much as he wanted to, wasn't going to happen though and it took him a good few seconds before he hit on the right move.

"Oi! Miss Darling!" he called out, taking a skipping start to a fast walk to catch up next to her. "Before we do part ways entirely, it'd be a horrible thing for me to not get you those promised Peppermint Toads, wouldn't it? And," he kept pace next to her, "as we've got to pass by Honeyduke's to get out of town as it is, it wouldn't hurt either of us to make a stop there together, now would it?" he suggested.
