Michelle was aware that her sense of humor was somehow mildly unconventional, and it often confused her friends. It was refreshing, with Luke, to be able to tease someone without worrying that they were going to misunderstand her or get their feeling all hurt. He knew that shed been playing with him, and that pleased her to no end.

When he caught her up in his arms and told her that she kept him on his toes, she was quite sure that the ridiculous smile she wore was pinned permanently to her face. She giggled when he kissed her nose, but that was soon checked by a shout and a somewhat suggestive comment aimed in their direction. Indeed, they were standing in the middle of Hogsmead, where there was no lack of an audience, she realized, and where rather large boys were drawing attention to them. It was enough to have Michelle shrinking against Lukes chest, burrowing her face into his cloak, although the persistent smile remained attached to her face.

Michelle glanced up in time to catch the suggestive look on Lukes face as he repeated what the boy had shouted.

"A room yeah?"

She could feel her ears go hot and tightened her cloak as she stepped back, trying to achieve some sense of propriety while she also made an effort to ignore what he was implying. Maybe we could at least get out of the middle of the street, she said softly. She bent to retrieve the bag of Peppermint Toads from the snow covered street and shivered all of a sudden, wishing shed worn a more practical dress for such a cold day. As cold as she was, it was quite likely shed be visiting Pomfrey for a Pepperup Potion come morning. Do you know, Michelle said to Luke. I am absolutely freezing.
