"I've gotten nothing but time for you this weekend, Holly. Nothing at all. It's your birthday, and we're gonna celebrate in high style,"

Holly shook her head. She really didn't see the need to celebrate her birthday. But her dormmates had insisted that this was her last year to celebrate in what Gideon had termed "high style."

"We don't really need to do anyth-"

"Holly Chant, And just how is the prettiest mediwitch in the entire school?"

Her eyes were wide as Jerome plucked her from her seat and spun her around. Her cheeks were bright spots of pink as she smiled.

"Jerome! You are making a scene!" The girl gasped, trying to hide behind her friend and from the staring eyes of the patrons within Madame Puddifoot's, when her feet touched the ground. All without being to conspicious or embarassing herself to badly.

"Gid. Mind if I accost your girl for a moment in celebration?"

"As long as I get her back in one piece,"

Holly put her hand over her red cheek, laughing a little nervously. No one ever knew what Jerome was going to do. And she was sure that she couldn't take much more excitement from that quarter. She was possitively embarassed. But it was nice to know someone was thinking of her.

"Mars said you'd be around, but I didn't expect to run into you so early. Happy birthday; I considered getting you a sparkly, but I thought this might do better."

"Oh.." She wispered softly as he handed her a box. "You really didn't have to Jer...Thank you so much.."

The blonde opened the box carefully, taking in the sight of the gift. Her finger touched the quill and she looked up at the boy infront of her, resting her hand on his arm.

"It's so lovely. I didn't expect anything." She turned to set the box on the table and reached down to squeeze his hand, before letting go of him completely. The seventh year Gryffindor bit her lip and glanced at Gideon, and back at Jerome.

She was just a little flustered, and she couldn't help looking down at her hands every so often to gather her wits about her.

"Thank you though."

So. Are we doing things MY way? Or the wrong way?
