Holly hated to admit it, but she was almost thankful when Jerome found a new girl to persue, a dark haired girl that was now giggling at his attentions.

She looked back at her boyfriend. Desperately wanting to fade into the background. That's where she was most comfortable. The blonde looked over her shoulder once more to make sure that she wasn't the center of attention anymore. Her moment in the spotlight had been more than enough.

And though she wanted to sink lower in her chair, Gideon smiled, capturing her hand and attention once more.

"Jerome's a good guy, for all his womanizing," Holly nodded her agreement.

"He really is very sweet." She never had a cruel word to say about anyone. And definately wouldn't be starting with a friend.

"Tell me, Hols, if I weren't your one and only heartbeat, would you fall for that wolf?"

Her eyes widened a bit and she laughed. Shaking her head, darting at glance at the dark haired boy she leaned conspiritorally closer to her boyfriend across the table, barely whispering above the steaming tea pot and plates of treats.

"Jerome?" Her voice sounded incredulous. "Gideon, no. He scares me, and I'm constantly embarassed when he makes scenes like that." She put her hand to her cheek as he poured the tea into cups, as if she was embarassed by the memory.

"I much prefer you. Quiet. Mysterious. Roguishly handsome." Holly was grinning behind her hand, glancing up at him before taking a cookie.

"I love your type. You take your good time romancing a girl. What do you think? Six years in the making? Slow and easy." Her eyes were dancing with a rare light. A look she only got with him, when she was teasing her best friend. When they ceased to be two separate people. And for one moment. It was just them, connecting and sharing a private joke.

She kissed her fingers before pressing them to his lips, smiling.

"Your being awfully strange today. I think all of our homework is definately getting to you."

So. Are we doing things MY way? Or the wrong way?
