Leathan

"I'm in full agreement with the extended hours party, myself," Leathan interjected, the initial lack of seriousness he had brought in with him being shed like water off a duck's back as his features took on a truly professional cast. It had always been to the folly of others to mistake his veneer of immaturity for a lack of true character. "And," he turned his gaze onto Rabastan, "if it's an issue of the Hit Wizards feeling overburdened during these dark times, I am more than willing to volunteer myself and Helena for Hogsmeade weekend duties."

He didn't bother to ask if she were okay with that.

"And, as your Defense professor, Albus, is an accomplished Auror - no doubt why you requested her for the Defense position, I am sure she would willingly step into the fray and help to alleviate the pressure put upon the Hit Wizards," he added.

Dumbledore

The choice was a tricky one. Albus, for all that he seemed like a doddering fool prone to making snap decisions, those who knew him well knew that he never made a decision that didn't have the full weight of many long hours of thought behind it. Still, it gave him a moment of pause that Horace, of all the people at the table, didn't see fit to extend hours.

He had, quite easily, pegged the others and was fairly sure that Minerva would prove to be in the camp that saw no reason for extended hours. However, it was Pomona's words that made him look at her for a moment before nodding.

"It is always the case with youth to push against the rules. Even during years when we have had no restrictions beyond the basics put upon their weekends, we have had rule breakers. Typically," his eyes sparkled as he looked over at Leathan, "those ones are found more often than not in the House of Gryffindor. I, of course, would push for extending the hours for the older students on Saturdays only from three to six in the evening. However, I would like to hear your take on it, Minerva."
