"And it took us this long to figure things out..."

There was no way Curtis would tell her that he had known for quite some time...not after that comment at least. He had been hoping that when she was older they might meet but under much different circumstances. He might even invite her over for coffee to tell her so they wouldn't be out in the public eye just in case she was one of those girls that was prone to fits of sobbing and emotional imbalances. But apparently she wasn't so it wasn't terrible that she found out this way. "Yes, yes but now, if you ever need help with any of your appalling homework you know who to ask," he began, a goofy grin on his face. "But wait...you're a Seventh Year aren't you? And anyways, I would be the last person you would want homework help from." That wasn't entirely true though...He had gotten all the proper marks to begin training as an Auror and had moderate grades throughout his years.

"My parents, dear cousin,...Don't need to know. I hardly think they even want to know. Ignorance is bliss, Curtis,"

"Yes, well. I know your folks and I doubt they'd feel the same way," he said, starting to feel highly suspicious now as to her intentions of going into the Hog's Head.

"It's not shady at all. It's a Hogsmeade tradition... a long standing establishment with, yes, I will admit, somewhat of a less savory clientele, but the Three Broomsticks is so crowded with third years, and Curtis, please, really, they make my headache in a most tedious and painful way..."

He eyed her carefully, her silly girlish movements not swaying him one bit but her last statement was the only deciding factor. "Fine, you can go in but after you tell me why you're not with anyone else. I know the rules just as well as you do so don't think you can get your way out of this. I want the truth," he demanded with as firm a voice as he could manage. That was why he didn't have kids or didn't really seem himself having them anytime soon. He would never be a good disciplinarian.
