Deryn grinned impishly in response to the young wizard's laugh at her straightforward comment, continuing with her work. She was never the most delicate one, not at all, but it fit her carefree nature perfectly. What was more, people she interracted with didn't seem to mind it all that much. Clearly neither did he.

Well," he replied, smacking his lips, "I was supposed to be meeting a gentlemen here for an interview but apparently he chose not to show up. Sometimes my interviewees choose to come to these places where its a tad quieter. I don't really see the point of it honestly. Way too many oddities hanging around the place,"

So, he was on job here. That was certainly new, considering the regular clientele of this place. She nodded earnestly at his last comment. "Way too many indeed," Deryn replied absent-mindedly, her gaze wandering from an obviously hammered wizard in his late forties to an odd-looking witch, who seemed to be talking to himself. That was why Deryn enjoyed rare ocassions when people like the reporter in front of her choose to visit the pub on their risks.

"I'm a writer for the Daily Prophet," he added, "My name's Jarad Thornbelt. Well met. Could I have another whiskey?"

"I'm Deryn Bateman," She smiled at Jarad, proceding with his order. "And sure," She added as she filled another glass of whiskey, passing it to him. "So, what that interview was supossed to be about?" The witch inquired rather curiously.
