The past month was what one could only call the fires of hell, and Eddie was sure this would be only the start of his descend down the abyss of the underground world. Quiz after quiz were thrown his way; set up scenarios and redundant training sessions weaved together, all created as the final test of three intense and tedious years of training. It was said that it didn't even take one week in this inferno to send all those non-qualified witches and wizards flying back to the comfort of their homes, but with the help of Butterbeer and encouragement he had stayed sane through it all. All that had been left was a one on one interview with the head, Rufus Scrimgeour, to which the eldest son of the Boneses thought had gone well when he had been in a nervous wreck at the time.

A nervous wreck, that was how Eddie felt right about now. The night before he had taken the time to charm his alarm clock to ring at 5 am, 5:30 am, 6 am and for it to continue on like that until it reached 7:30 am. Somehow he had miraculously slept through it all, and to think the annoying object was placed on the bedside table right next to his ears... he must have had one too many butterbeers last night, or maybe it was too much chocolate. Was it even possible to get a hangover out of eating too much sugar? Hands in his pockets, Eddie made his way at a fast pace towards the Auror's office, no need to aggravate the situation by taking his time from the elevator to the office.

Smiling sheepishly at the receptionist he made his way towards what he was sure was the row his cubicle was in. He had been so busy listening to Rufus' every word and trying to process everything that he wasn't so sure anymore whether he had borrowed the right row or not. These darn cubicles looked all the same! Letting out a small sigh as he continued down the row, he reassured himself with the thought of him not being the only one on his first day, hadn't Rufus mentioned someone else starting today too in his letter?

"...And I am here to make sure you don't flounder and drown."

Stopping in his tracks he looked ahead where the voice had comed from. He was greeted with the sight of Gideon and another boy who he was sure had to be Benjy. Sheepish smile turning into a cheerful one, Eddie resumed his walk and approached the two gentlemen. "Fancy seeing you here Gid," he said in a joking manner. Of course he knew that Gid would be here somewhere, though he hadn't expected seeing him on his first day at work. Well alright, maybe he had been hoping that Gideon would be present, sure would help with the nervous system that had decided earlier to do a late spring clean. "Can you make sure we don't get murdered by our co-workers cause we are late on our first day?" he asked both Benjy in a quiet tone, not wanting to upset any workers around. Being late was one thing, but disturbing his co-workers in their work was something Eddie just wasn't ready to do - at least not today.
