"Only as a last resort"

Eddie knew that Gid was playing along and he wasn't just about ready to let it go. Lifting his left hand up to his forehead he pretended to sweep sweat-drops from there. "Thank Merlin," he began, "For a minute I feared I had to tell Holly that she was going to have competition," a shake of his head, "And to the head of the office at that."

"What say you, mate? We know more than a few, don't we?"

"Oh that we do," Eddie replied, grinning. It was better than sulking, and at least he looked happy to be here. Not that he wasn't happy to be here. He hadn't spent the past three years undergoing training just to turn his back to it, like a certain Prewett. He still didn't comprehend how Fabian could just graduate and flop send all of that hard work to waste. Nevertheless he somewhat respected his decision, prefering to see him happy and if being the new manager of Quidditch Quality Supplies did the trick then so be it. He'd shut up about it and let it be. Rather shut up than lose a friend, especially a close one like Fabi. Granted his true best friend was sitting right in front of him, but Fabian was just as near close to him as his twin was. There was just something about Gid that made him more approachable with his problems and whatnot.

"You do that then Eddie. And I will tell the boys to go easy on them. Can't go losing all our new recruits on the first day. Boss gets angry if some don't last atleast three days."

"Well he can rest assure, I'm planning to be here for the long run, not just a little breeze to annoy everyone." He definitely didn't go through those two extra weeks of examination and interview with the Big R for the mere fun of it. Oh no sir, Edgar Bones would be soon making this place his new home.

"Next row over Ed, two desks down from this one. All the Intelligence guys are over there. And girls. How did you get into intelligence anyway? Needed a new coffee boy did they?"

"Haven't you heard? Some secretary has believed to be insulted by everyone in the office that he doesn't bring coffee to anyone anymore. They are all about to die without their daily dose of caffeine," Eddie replied. Letting it sink in Benjy's head, he continued when he believed it had sunk in. "No honestly, I'll let you know there's a brain residing in here. May be hard to believe but it is the pure truth. Oh and thank you for that... huh what was it again? Two rows from here and one desk up?" Holding back a chuckle he added, "Seriously I got the directions, was just kidding."

"Well we have a choice then. Leathan, who isn't a bad guy, or Artemisia. She's in your department Eddie. Nice lady too. Very into her work, but so is everyone around here. And I have to drop off a report to Helena later, but I dont think you two are ready for her quite yet."

Shrugging, he looked to Gid before answering to Benjy, "I don't mind, though it'd be nice to know someone from the department I'll be working in. Though if Leathan's cubicle is nearer we can always go and see him. I had him in Muggle Defenses too." At that he turned back to Gideon and would have said 'all thanks to a certain someone', but Benjy was here and well there were things that were better left unsaid. That and he wasn't ready to launch himself in another of those explaination of the story that included his manliness. It was enough to do it once for Holly, no need to do it a second time.
