Orion entered the conference room with a clinched jaw and a rather determined look on his face. Contrary to his countenance, he felt like any moment that he would lose the contents of his stomach. This probably had to be one of the stupidest ideas he had ever had. In fact, he was willing to wager that he had gone mentally insane when he had signed up for this. He felt that at any moment, someone was going to stand up, point at him, and tell him that he didnt belong there.

And in all honesty, he didnt. He grew up running from the cops and now it seemed that he was joining them. Aurors were simply cops with wands, inept ones at that. They had no idea who was responsible for the massacre at Diagon Alley. He doubted they could find a bottle of whiskey in a pub. And Orion figured that the only way that he could possibly find out who was responsible was to join them. If only he could find out something, anything and the summer wouldnt have been wasted.

He leaned back on the back of legs of the chair with crossed arms and listened to the ministry workers.

---------
It had been nearly 8 years since Daniel had set foot in the Ministry. In the eyes of a little boy that building had been overwhelming and a little intimidating. He didnt really remember a lot of it truthfully. He remembered his fathers office in the auror department. He had been a Field Agent that had been killed in the line of duty. Sometimes when he and his mother would come to visit for lunch or while they were shopping in London, his father would let him sit behind a huge battered desk. It had made Daniel feel proud and grown up. There was also some kind of fountain that had captured his attention. It had some figures. There had been a centar, he remembered that much for sure, or had it been a unicorn? His mental image of it had dimmed and faded over the years. But he had been fascinated by it and he had thrown a coin in the sparkling waters and made a wish. What the wish had been, Daniel didnt remember. But he was comforted on finding out that it still stood.

He hadnt even thought that he would take a job at the Ministry. Instead, he was counting on becoming a musician. It was only under the advice of the Divinations Professor that he was even here. People with an inner eye was hard to come by and in much demand. So Daniel thought that he might give it a try.

His mother had been thrilled that finally her son was starting to live up to his fathers standards. Daniel hadnt bothered telling her that it didnt mean that hed actually become a profiler and was just trying it out. If he had, hed have to listen to her start to cry and how he would probably end up on the street with a guitar and an open case where people could throw loose change.

Still being in such a new place somewhat intimidated him. It would take him awhile to get used to the layout and all of the different people. In comparison the Ministry made Hogwarts look tiny. He had met up with Orion on the outside of the building. Orion had given time for the blonde boy to fold up his white cane and stash it in his robes pocket before leading him to the waiting room and then to the conference room.

Now that Daniel had been seated, he leaned foreword with his hands clasped together on the table as he listened carefully as to not miss anything that was said.
