Ok, so this situation probably could have gone a whole lot better. For everyone involved in fact. River was careful to keep pieces of furniture in between her and the irate looking brunette that had just climbed off of Darby's lap. She was making her way to the kitchen so that she could put down the beer. But she also did not want the other woman charging her, or in fact doing anything that looked even remotely violent. River knew that her living here was probably not going to go down all that well, and she didn't want to spoil her new friendship with Darby by bloodying up his girlfriend.

"this is River. My flatmate...she, uh, she just moved in. I didnt' get the chance to, uh, tell you yet."

River put the carton of beer down and raised her hands a little, a smile on her face. "Nice to meet you Athena. Sorry about all this, if I had known that you two were going to be all snuggly, I would have just gone straight upstairs and bothered the boys." Bothering Josh and Leathan seemed like a really good plan right now. Better than anything else in the world infact. She knew Darby was coming out of a bit of a rough patch, and she really, really didn't want to make it worse for him.
