Leathan

"Or you could have saved yourself the trouble by sending River. She managed to drag Benjy from his desk, she'd probably have managed dragging him also."

Leathan barked a laugh, eyes moving to see River currently sitting on Josh's lap. "I've a feeling she won't be dragging many others from desks or elsewhere for the remainder of the day."

Well, is anybody going to offer a lady a drink?

The sound hadn't been heard in the courtyard of Lowell for months; Leathan could have lived without hearing it for much, much longer. Giving the bangers on the grill a prod and a flipping a few, he turned, at length and, taking a long sip of his Newcastle, he watched her.

"Who are choo?"

"I'd not ask 'who', love," he said, distaste truly coloring his words, "I'd ask 'what'. Were you a lady, Miss Skeeter, I'd get you a drink, but that's up for questioning, isn't it? What are you doing here?"

He gave a glance over at Josh, though the other bloke was still far too caught up in the presence of River on his lap; Leathan had been positive that Josh had done all he could to keep Skeeter from finding out about the party.

Apparently it hadn't been enough.
