Hes had this annoying tendency to become a little bubbly and perky when she was nervous, which only accentuated the youthful good looks she had going for her (which actually weren't so much an asset as a curse). She fought the urge very, very hard and, since she usually had a firm hold on her own actions and impressions on others, she seemed to have succeeded. She allowed herself one giddy little thought before resigning herself to an evening utterly without giddiness. Girls could be so annoying sometimes, she well knew, and she didn't intend to become one of them. Not that she didn't to be a girl...she just didn't want to giggle and babble like one.

"You know, I tend to get that."

Orchids. Hestia loved orchids, which was strange, since she didn't usually keep flowers around. But they were a tempermental plant, requiring the exact balance of water and sunlight. They were challenging to keep around, but they were beautiful. They were a flower that commanded respect. Why she had thought so much about them, even in the past few seconds, was beyond her. But the shock of the orchids was overwhelmed by the weird, warm sensation that rushed through her face as Rhett kissed her hand. Silly her. How many times had she had her hand kissed by smooth Slytherin boys? At least...four. And now, it seemed that she had forgotten that particular facet of her past. She had become a different person, truly. But while she tended to think that it was a change for the better, she wasn't sure that Rhett Doyle would agree with her.

But he didn't know about her change of heart. And she didn't intend to tell him about it.

"I must say...I think green suites us both rather well."

Hestia grinned.

"I'd have to agree with you there," she commented, "It's been so long since I've worn it, I thought I would revive it."

"I thought we'd go to InnThe Park for dinner? It a restaurant in St. Jame's park, it's supposed to be nice...if that's okay with you, of course...And then afterwards we could head over to the hill for some star gazing."

"That sounds lovely," she said, "I haven't actually been there, though, so you'll have to lead the way."

She allowed herself a moment to be very impressed. She hadn't been to a nice restaurant in a long time...the auror office wasn't the highest paying place in the ministry, and the ministry itself wasn't really a place to go to get rich. And she hadn't grown up wealthy, so she was used to eating at places that didn't cost an arm and a leg for a slightly overcooked steak. But there was a part of her that craved the quality of life that wealth afforded...a part that wanted a steak cooked to perfection and someone to call her "madame" or "ma'am" or something instead of just "you". But her decision had been to do the right thing instead of the profitable thing when she began to examine her job options, so here she was...reaping what she had sown. But it was nice to get out, for once.
