And then he wasn't even allowed to get a word in edgewise as she blabbered on about a trip and her dog and feeding him and walking him and was shoving a plate of goodies at him.

She was flat out adorable.

Yet, he couldn't manage to just say so. Instead, he heaved a sigh and walked into the flat indicating for her to come with him.

"Oi! Ath!"

The voice of Jeremy cut through the room as Darby's flatmate came out and grabbed the plate of goodies from Darby, shoving a cookie into his mouth and speaking around the food. "Ya shouldn't have, Ath! Though, I can't say I'm upset in the least."

If Jeremy noticed anything odd between his flatmate and the girl he couldn't say enough about, he didn't let it show.

"Haven't seen you about much," he said, swinging and arm about her shoulders. "We need you to drop by. And often. The touch of a girl is necessary in the lives of us dreary bachelors."

For Darby's part, he was both relieved at the interruption and highly annoyed.
