Turning from the window when she heard the step further into the room, Charlotte hesitated in moving forward, though her smile was one of sincerity when her eyes caught his own. She had, after all, missed him quite a bit since her departure, and seeing him there (in robes to top it off), she could have asked for very little besides it.

At his compliment, Charlotte murmured a 'thank you' before he was lifting her hand to brush his lips against it, her gaze flickering away from his momentarily as she tried to regain focus of her thoughts. He was unnerving her in the worst way possible, and she was having trouble concentrating, but she wouldn't let it be an impediment. No, there was too much at stake.

"How are you?"

"I'm well," she said before reaching over to brush a kiss to his cheek, as was only custom. She breathed in his scent before pulling back and it explained her momentary loss of focus before she was gesturing for him to join her on the white sofa. Pushing a stray lock back from her face, she was quiet for a second before the arrival of tea distracted her. Leaning forward, she poured it and inquired, "And yourself? I know work must be overwhelming with everything.. but how is it after all?"
