Charlotte stirred the sugar into her tea, before settling back against the couch and listening intently when he spoke. She did not blink when he swore, holding such close agreement to his perception of the other side. She, after all, had done nothing to know one and had her entire life decimated for their content. Her thoughts paused there, and unable to think on it any further, she took another sip of her tea before inquiring.

"But isn't that what seperates you from them?" she asked with a pause, unsteady only in the sense that she had spoken so little passionately-held views since the incident at her flat. Something had died in her then, and it was only barely surfacing for a flash of a moment. "You don't sink to their levels, you have dignity- doesn't that count for something?"

Biting her lip as she surmised she may have gone too far, Charlotte set her cup of tea aside. Standing, she walked towards the window and taking in the view of the gardens. Her emotions were more conflicted than she could make sense, it was one thing that his words had incited her, but his physical presence was setting her on edge. She could feel his strength, magnetism, presence even from across the room, and it was with the greatest of efforts that she found herself calming herself. She had to keep him at a distance, she could not expect anything good if she didn't.

Over her shoulder without turning, she said, "I overextended myself, I apologize. I know so little of what I mentioned, and I don't have the perspective you do daily. I'm merely making assumptions, and I shouldn't have."

Distance set. Problem solved.
