The blue eyes of the red haired man looked at the boy infront of him as he murmured that he was alright. Of course he wasn't alright, his parents had been murdered in cold blood. He stood asside as Lilisina stepped forward and ran her hand along his head, cupping his cheek like she would one of her own sons and leaned in to press a kiss to his forehead.

As he offered them a spot to eat she took his arm leading him inside. Morti followed, his daughter's letter sitting like a ticking time bomb in his pocket. No matter what his little girl thought, her father wasn't quite as oblivious as he seemed. Where it helped his Lils sleep at night knowing that her daughter wasn't out repeating mistakes of the past, Morti wasn't as inclined to believe that Kibby has stopped seeing Fabian when they asked.

Kibby had always been his baby. From the moment the medi-witches had handed the red haired bundle to him in the hospital. He looked down at the baby he'd watched grow with growing jealousy in his wife's womb. But she blinked up at him, pink cheeked and those blue eyes, the ones that had hurt him so much as she cried when she'd been told that he wasn't her father, and she'd been his. Closer to her than he ever had been to his sons. She was his soul, she was his laughter, his sorrow and his reason for living. That one wild child, the one that couldn't understand why her mother tried to quwell the restless spirt inside of her, was his joy.

And looking on the boy she had probably loved from the moment she'd met him, Mortimorius Grey's mouth held a firm line. Something had happened, he knew it from her handwritting, the way she hid everything without saying a word. Her mother had never known her, hadn't wanted to know her the way he did. But something happened between the two of them, something that wasn't a dictation from either of her parents.

He was pulled from his silent musings as Lils lead Fabian to the couch, sitting him down and running a comforting hand over his arm and hand.

"Fabian, the house looks...wonderful. But, we wanted to check on you. You know that Morti and I have always thought of you as one of our own, even after...all that has happened." The words went unsaid, as it did in polite company. "We recieved a letter from K.B., she was practically hysterical, you know how she gets...at moments." Also something that went unmentioned in polite company.

Morti frowned and took a seat in the chair flanking the two, extending an arm that held Kibby's envelope.

"It's from K.B., she sent us a separate one. I'm not sure why she didn't send it to you dirrectly." There was a slight pause as if to indicate this was where he was supposed to fill in the blank.

Clearing his throat Morti began again.

"Why don't you look that over, my boy. See if we are on the same page. She is worried about you, we all are. Her brothers and sisters-in-law and her mother and I. You know that you are practically a son to us. There hasn't been a summer you haven't stayed over. Christmas and holidays. Fabian, I know that it is hard to come to terms with what happened. What happened is possibly one of the most horrible things I have heard in a long time. And your parents were some of the most upstanding people I've had the pleasure of getting to know over the years. They were proud of you and your siblings. Had a good reason to be." His dark blue eyes leveled with hazel ones. Man to man.

"I was never one to believe that one mistake makes up a whole of a personality. K.B's mother and I would like to ask you to take a little time and stay with us. You shouldn't be in an empty house by yourself, my boy. A person can go crazy being surrounded by day to day life. You look halfway there right now." He reached over and rested a hand on Fabian's shoulder. Eyes flickering to Lilisina who was holding his hand.

"It was Kibby's idea you stay with us. But it wasn't something we feel obligated to offer. We would be glad to have you in the house. Our girl, you know she has a bleeding heart for those she cares for. I know she is pacing at school, walking a tread into the floor worrying over you." Morti offered a small smile.

"Which is what I was doing before we came. I can't with good conscience let you stay here alone. It can be for as long as you want, a few days, a few weeks. Until arrangments can be made and plans solidified. If you need some advice K.B's mother and I are here for you and your siblings." Kibby's mother patted his hand.

"Fabian, please let us help."
