Killing the lights had been an impulsive action that she had a couple of seconds to berate herself over and call herself bloody moronic. These cheerful thoughts were fortunately disturbed by the hex that zipped out of the darkness, a few feet to the left of where she'd imagined Wolfe was. She didn't have the time to conjure a proper Shield Charm, or perhaps the bloody moronicness was getting in the way. What she did was instinctive, raising an arm to block herself and crouch down. It struck her slightly above the elbow and she bit into her hand to keep herself from shouting. Always a mistake to undermine someone's skills just because they did not use the more complicated charms, wasn't it? The simplest hexes used with enough force were usually enough. But she had a better location too now, even if she wasn't going to risk pulling the lights back.

Needing a second to gather herself and blank her mind to the sharp pain in her left arm, she cast a shield charm. Then she shook her head, casting a flurry of hexes at Wolfe, some that would make him burst into song, some that would knock him out for a few hours. The idea was less to hit him than to distract him until she was more certain of his location, in the light of the curses. She pointed her wand at the shrubbery Albert Tremlyn had so tastefully planted on his lawn - tasteful indeed, little rose bushes and Devil's Snare. Engorgio! The burst up in size, creating a not particularly effective wall in between them, not designed to block him, certainly, as it was to annoy him and distract him from her twisting around and working on the house a bit more.

Aware that she had about four seconds before he blasted those silly plants out of his way, she used these to check for more wards, wanting nothing more than to barge into Tremlyn's house and knock the man out. If it weren't for the man behind her, she would have done so, hang her better instincts. The shield charm went up first this time, as she figured her time was up. Then, with a frown, she twisted around and Apparated to the other side of the street, behind Wolfe. It was playing dirty but they were both Slytherins, and at any rate, she was still not looking to harm him. Just delay him and deter him and perhaps annoy the living hell out of him in the process. Stupefy! she cast, this time, and followed it up swiftly with another Stunner. Of course if it didn't hit him, which seemed likely, all there lay between them now was an empty open, if darkened, road.
