Why Shanley was poking the bear she did not know. Perhaps she had finally plucked up the courage to stand up for herself. Whatever it was she knew that anyone who was witnessing this had to surprised by her actions. It wasn't everyday they got to see quiet Shanley fling a Johannson's books across the corridor. Maybe it wasn't so much that she was inspired by courage, more that she had just utterly gone crazy. Whatever the reason was Shanley found herself in a position where she easily could have and probably should have backed down but wasn't going to. Not today, she was in too foul of a mood to let the like of Emilie Johannson treat her like she was nothing.

She knew that she had awokened Emilie's anger. If she had been annoyed before that annoyance was now pure anger. Half-breed! Shanley's own fists balled up. She hated being called that! But she couldn't defend herself on the matter. Easily, being smaller than the older girl, Shanley flew into other students who now definitely noticed something was up and most had stopped to watch. Shanley ignored them though.

"Crazy bitch? Rather that than a fucking lunatic!' Oh her mother would so be washing her mouth out with soap at the moment. Shanley never swore but it seemed like she was starting the habit today. "Go pick up my stuff! Pick it up before I do something that will result in screwing up your stupid little face for the rest of the school term." Shanley was definitely afraid because she had not doubt that Emilie was capable of doing something like that. But she was thrusting that fear away at the moment. She was making a point and even if she got beat up for it than so be it, at least the point had been heard.

Shanley stood her ground. "No." She said firmly. "Go and pick it up yourself." Shanley paused and pulled out her wand, knowing that where this was heading she might need it. "And I'd like to see you try." Oh Merlin, what had she gotten herself in to?
