"Alright, fine. It was just a suggestion."

"Well it was a stupid suggestion." Dani snapped. Hiring help. Bastard. She could handle this. They could. Both of them, together. They were married now, they ought to be alright. But no. He thought they'd need help. The jerk.

"If it helps ease your mind we can go in when I'm off work."

She tried not to cry, she really did, but it hardly worked. "I'm sorry! I just… I don't want you to get fired because of me. I should… I can't… and the babies! We don't need the stress of you worrying about work, and me worrying about you worrying about work. Its just not… Its not healthy for any of us." She rubbed the tears away from her eyes. "Not for You, or Sophia or the new baby, or Me…. And… and… I'd appreciate you caring!

"I'm sorry."

"Well… It is mostly your fault." Not this baby, but all the things with Sophia had been and were. Not to mention the fact that Dani was always stressed could be greatly attributed to Sean's… Seanness, a small part was her affair, but she felt better to blame Sean.

"I could have done that."

Dani rolled her eyes. "You'll have plenty of time to be the one getting the baby. I'm not to bad yet, but soon I'll be fat again, and lazy, and wanting strange food, and you can bring me my Pineapple and Tomato Soup and the baby or glasses of Ice or water or milk or whatever else you'd like to give me. I'm not big yet, I'm just throwing up a lot, I'm a bit tired, but I'm not on bed rest yet." She figured she would be soon enough.

"I love it. Sophia is going to be the perfect big sister."

"Of course she will." Dani stroked her daughter's hair. "She won't know anything else. With the hand not supporting her daughter she patted Sean. "I love you, you know. And our babies. Both of them." Even if the baby wasn't really Sean's it would always be kind of his baby. He was Dani's husband. She wasn't sleeping with Nic anymore, not since she got married. This was such a mess.

"You didn't tell anyone else did you?"

She sighed. "I told Nic." She might as well tell at least part of the truth. She'd told Nic because it was his baby and he needed to know. Dani was not willing to tell Sean that, defiantly not yet. "I… I was worried what you'd say, and I needed to talk to someone. I was there any way. I've been helping him clean for ever, and if I stopped now, well the poor bloke would never have a clean apartment, you should have seen it after… OW! Sophia!" She groaned, trying to shift the baby to a more comfortable position. "Not so rough with Mummy. Can I have another pillow?" she asked, hoping Sean would hand her one. "Anyway. We ought to tell Jeremy. I figure that you're not going to be able to keep a secret from him. And I have a younger girl I'd like to tell."

Dani finished nursing Sophia, and passed the baby off to the father. "Can you take her?" she yawned, and settled in to the bed. Just for a little while? Take her downstairs and play with her? I'll come down and join you in a bit, I just…" She was really tired, her eyes were drooping and she was falling asleep before she'd clearly finished the sentence. "and baby… I'll.. down ina bit… ok?" And Dani didn't say anything else. Instead she fell asleep. Which ought to please Sean, greatly.
