"This is my baby? Dani, you're going to have MY baby?"

"Yes Nic." She sighed. "Well it's our baby, not yours, but It's more yours than Sean's." She sighed, wringing his sheets in her hands. Stupid sheets, stupid sex, stupid Dani. "I'm… I'm due in July, we think, at the beginning. I don't… I mean… I know it will be your child, but… I can't. I can't tell Sean. We can't. It would just be stupid. So… we can't… I mean, no one can know it's our baby. Sean can't find out."

That wasn't really fair to Nic. This was going to be his child as much as it was hers. But she couldn't risk Sean finding out. Sleeping with Nic had been about the stupidest thing she'd ever done, and she wasn't letting that ruin the rest of her life. It wasn't as if when Sean found out and divorced her and took Sophia that Nic was going to marry her and make it all better. He couldn't, Dani didn't love Nic like that, she loved Sean, and she wasn't letting this get between them.

"I'll have to tell him eventually, I just I want to do it on my time. And if someone else tells him. So I hear Dani's having Nic's baby, he might get pissed off." She wanted Nic to take her, and hold her, and stroke her hair and tell her this was all ok, and that he'd not let anything bad happen to her or the baby, and he promised to be good and not tell anyone it was his child. But she didn't imagine he would. And even if he did, they'd probably end up having sex, and it wasn't like he could get her more pregnant, so that might not be so bad.
