The feel of her hands pressing against the top of his hips tightened his gut in a very pleasurable way. Were she anyone but Wynne, he may have allowed himself to think along far more naughty lines, but he knew, even though she'd never said it outright, that anything beyond kissing and hand holding wouldn't be appreciated by this woman until he had made a full commitment.

He wasn't adverse to that idea in the least.

Dorcas would tease him relentlessly for it, he knew. Not that he gave a lick. He'd been after marriage in a bad way since he'd bought his house and he wasn't going to be shy about finding the right woman to marry him now. He very much hoped that woman would be the one looking up at him and teasing him in this moment. Drawing her in close, he found her lips and murmured against them. "Let them be dangerous. They don't scare me."

He followed that with another kiss, the sort which he'd been wanting to - dreaming of - give to her for weeks. He didn't give a whit that they were in a library, nor that she worked there. Not as he tasted her and felt her body pressed against his own. Had he the nerve, he'd have pulled back just enough to apparate them from the library to somewhere far more private. That it would likely spell the end of their relationship was all that stopped him.
