Summer may have been playtime for many of the students of Hogwarts, but for the Grimm boys summer consisted of work from before the sun was up until after it was down. They had time to relax during the course of each day, but none of them lasted for all that long. They had a full day off, as well, and those were the days they generally spent down at the pond or out in the shed or sleeping. It all depended on just how hard of a week they'd had. If they had a good reason they were even allowed a day or two during the summer to visit friends, but summer was a worktime for the Grimms, first and foremost.

Friday night, though, after the goats had been penned up for the night, Gilbert had grabbed a bag and flooed himself to London. He was going to be staying with the LaRose's and David had met him in Diagon. After the usual jibes and teasing about being there to see some silly girl, Gil - his hair perfect and dressed in a pair of David's jeans and one of his best t-shirts - had left for the Muggle place his girlfriend worked at. He'd not told her he was going to show up. In fact, he wasn't supposed to see her until Saturday morning.

But Gil loved the idea of a surprise and so he showed up just as she struggled with a bus tub. Without so much as a word, he slipped up behind her, pressed a kiss to her neck and then grabbed the tub lifting it with ease. "Tell me where it goes and," he smiled at her, "tell me when I get you to myself."
